Weekend to Remember Marriage Getaway

Sr. Pastors and Full-time Associate Pastors registration is covered by a scholarship. As a Pastor couple, we would love to bless you, to allow you to spend time together, to provide a refreshing connection with each other. Please complete the scholarship application form: https://www.familylife.com/weekend-to-remember/scholarship-form/

Marriage is a lifelong adventure of growing together through every age and stage of life. The Weekend to Remember is for couples to get away and invest in their relationship, to hear God's blueprints for marriage and intentionally move towards oneness. The weekend is for all couples, from those planning to marry to those who have been married for decades. This is not a large group counseling session or small group discussion. You’re not asked to share intimate details of your relationship with anyone. Instead, you’ll listen to engaging talks from marriage experts, then get alone with your spouse in guided projects to practically apply concepts you’ve heard. You will bring home powerful communication tools from the Bible―and meaningful memories.

To register for the Poconos Weekend to Remember, March 29-31 go to:

Faithful Shepherd Pastor's Conference

Faithful Shepherd Pastor's Conference

The busy pastor is filled with concerns about his people and ministry that often shape the focus and content of his sermons. He may ask himself, What are the needs of my church’s members? What do they need to learn? What spiritual gifts are they lacking? What has their attention on social media right now? Am I getting my messages across? What sins need to be addressed this week? The list goes on.

Ultimately, preaching must be Christ-centered and biblical, but what does that sound like? Busy pastors can lose sight of the forest for the trees. Our keynote speaker, Pastor Bryan Chapell, author of Christ-Centered Preaching, will lead a revitalizing refresher on God-honoring preaching and application, addressing many of these and other issues.

MLK Day Peace Service and March

From the NW Division police chaplains:

The service will take place at New Hope Temple Baptist Church, 312 W. Manheim St. (Pulaski & Manheim) with people arriving at 10am for a 10:30am start. It will run approximately 30 minutes. A few elected officials and other community leaders will offer brief remarks.

Participants will then join in a prayer march to Wayne Junction, 4481 Wayne Ave. This “hot spot” location borders the 14th, 35th and 39th districts. According to Mapquest it is .8 miles from the church building to the location. Transportation for those unable to walk the entire distance is being arranged.

I hope that many of you will attend and that you will encourage others to do so. Inasmuch as the event is intended to foster unity and peace in the city it is worth the effort to make the effort of a short trip. We also don’t want an MLK event to be as segregated as many of our church services are.

How can we maintain, even grow, our unity as we seek to understand the paradoxes and work through the tensions? Join pastors and leaders from throughout Greater Philadelphia to address these difficult, sometimes painful, issues in prayer.

"The Church as a Refuge" — A One-Day Conference with Dr. Diane Langberg

Many people come to church bearing emotional and spiritual scars from past or present abuse received from those in power over them—parents, spouses, bosses, or church leaders. Physical, verbal, sexual, and emotional abuse is much more common in the church than we would like to think. How do we pastor these people well? And how do we do everything in our power to ensure that our churches are a refuge for those who need “shelter from the storm” (Isaiah 32:2)?
