 Glenn McDowell

Director

Glenn McDowell is the founder and Director of Philadelphia Gospel Movement.
Born and raised in Paraguay of missionary parents, he loves connecting people of different cultures.  His greatest joy is helping people who are most different love one another in Christian community.
He and his amazing wife Connie have two sons and two daughters, all adopted.
He is City Pastor of Liberti River Wards Church.  He began pastoral ministry as Associate Pastor of Tenth Presbyterian Church, and was active in planting churches and coaching church planters in Greater Philadelphia for 30 years.
The focus of Glenn's ministry is to bring synergy to the diverse elements of the body of Christ in Philadelphia - for the good of the entire city.  The goal is fulfilling Jesus’ prayer in John 17:  "Father, may my disciples be one, that the world might believe.”
He enjoys riding on bike trails and keeping his house warm in the winter by splitting logs one-handed for their wood stove (he is an amputee.)
Glenn has a BA in history from the University of Pennsylvania, an MDiv from Westminster Theological Seminary, and is certified as an Urban Church Planter Coach with Redeemer City to City. He served on the board of the Center for Urban Theological Studies (CUTS) for many years, which pioneered in and was a national model in training urban pastors.

Jeffrey Harley

Lead Ambassador

Jeffrey is married to Annette Harley, and they have three children: Aaron (21), Arianna (18), and Isaac (13).  The Lord Jesus Christ saved him in May 20th 1994. He finished a master’s degree in Labor Studies and Employee Relations at Rutgers University and took a position with the Communication Workers of America Local 1034 in 2004. He went to seminary at Biblical Theological Seminary in Hatfield, PA and completed a Master of Divinity Degree. While in seminary he took a position as the Education Chaplain at a Christian Rescue Mission in Philadelphia, PA. He am currently the Pastor of Harambe Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA and also serves as the Executive Director of “Called To Serve” Community Development Corporation in Philadelphia, PA. He considers himself a Pastor/Prophet/Activist. He has a heart and passion for underserved communities and seeing the Body of Jesus Christ unite across socio-economic divisions, denominational divisions, and racial/ethnic divisions that hinder us from being the One Unified Bride of Christ that manifests the Divine Life of Christ in the earth. This passion and purpose drives him daily, and he is believing and trusting the Lord for a Philadelphia where the chasm that exists between the “haves” and “have nots” is bridged by the Body of Christ.

 Brent Martin

Ambassador

After graduating from college, Brent stepped out to follow the call of God on his life by moving into Lancaster city in 1997 to work with urban youth.  After getting married to his amazing wife Lisa, the two served as youth pastors for 8 years at a thriving, multicultural church in Lancaster called In the Light Ministries.  In 2007, they moved to Allentown to pastor an older, declining denominational church.  During that time, Brent successfully co-led a merger with a younger, multicultural church that was a beacon of unity in the Lehigh Valley.  In 2016, the Martins relocated to Philadelphia.  Brent currently serves as Family Life Pastor at In the Light Philly and also helps to lead the Shepherd's Club ministry - a monthly gathering of pastors and leaders throughout the city of Philadelphia.  He has a passion to see the Body of Christ come together in unity in order to see the kingdom of God established in our city.  He enjoys taking walks and bike rides on Pennypack Trail and spending time with his wonderful 3 children.

Lauren Campbell

Administrative Assistant

Lauren has been working for Glenn McDowell for 4 years, and before that was a childcare provider. Much of Lauren's volunteer work has led her to this point, including numerous church programs and starting a civic association in her pervious neighborhood in East Mt. Airy. PGM is Lauren's first experience working for a Christian non-proft, and it has been both a blessing and an eye-opening, faith growing experience.

Emily Davis

Event and Communications Manager

Emily has a passion for helping and empowering people. As a former program director of Utility Emergency Services Fund for the past 10 years, she is a strong, organized leader who brings a wealth of knowledge on successfully starting new programs. In her time there, she has provided people with financial assistance and educated them to solve their immediate needs and to help them be self-sustaining long term. Her experience will play an important role in coordinating events and contribute to the growth of Philadelphia Gospel Movement.

Skip Galanes

Volunteer Finance Manager

Skip, now retired, had a business career dealing with commercial real estate finance as a consultant, lender, and investor. During the last 13 years, his practice focused on financing affordable housing. Before moving from Boston, Skip was a board member and volunteer for Emmanuel Gospel Center whose mission was to “Learn, Equip, and Connect” with Christian leaders from various backgrounds in addressing systemic problems in the Boston area. This EGC experience is very valuable in working with Philadelphia Gospel Movement in its start up phase.
